GP Receptionist / Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and friendly Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy GP practice. The successful candidate will provide excellent patient care, manage reception duties, and support the administrative functions of the practice while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Main Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and visitors.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries.
  • Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments.
  • Processing prescriptions and patient registrations.
  • Managing incoming correspondence and scanning documents.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records on SystemOne.
  • Administrative support for clinicians and the wider practice team.
  • Read coding and data entry to support record accuracy.
  • Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a GP practice, primary care, or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of SystmOne.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organisational and IT skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
  • Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience with Read Coding/Clinical Coding.
  • Knowledge and use of AskMyGP and other primary care software.
  • Experience processing clinical correspondence and updating patient records.
  • This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while supporting the efficient running of the practice.
